Quality Assurance Services provided included verifying all contractor submittals & certificates, verifying and computing pay item quantities, insuring all tests required were performed; verifying all construction was to lines and grades, and assuring work was completed in a safe and workmanlike manner.


  • WBV-17b.2 – Hwy 90 to Lake Cataouatche Pumping Station Levee, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, for the New Orleans District, Corps of Engineers

This contract involved raising the elevations of approximately 1 mile of earthen levee that was constructed during Phase 1 to the 100 year level of protection. This contract involved the levee that parallels a landfill that lies south of Highway 90 as part of the Lake Cataouatche system in Jefferson Parish.

  • WBV-70 and WBV-72 – Western Tie-In Levee East-West, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, for the New Orleans District, Corps of Engineers

-WBV-70 – Involved construction of 2.5 miles of sand cells to form and dewater the base of the levee for subsequent levee embankment construction.

-WBV-72, Involved constructing approximately 2.8 miles of earthen levee to the 100-year protection level.  This work included placing clay embankment material over the sand cells constructed in WBV-70.

  • WBV-15a.2 – Lake Cataouatche Pump Station to Segnette State Park, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, for the New Orleans District, Corps of Engineers

This contract involved approximately 3.75 miles of earthen levee constructed to the 100-year level using offsite borrow. The work site was bound on the south by the Lake Cataouatche Outer Canal and immediately to the north by the Cataouatche Inner Canal.

  • LPV-01.1 and LVP-01.2 – East Jefferson, Lake Pontchartrain Lakefront Levee, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, for the New Orleans District, Corps of Engineers

-LPV-01.1 involved raising 1.5 miles of the East Jefferson Levee to the 100 year level of protection plus 1.5 ft of over build to account for embankment settlement.  A wave berm was constructed that sloped downward from the levee toe to the lakeshore.

-LPV-01.2 involved extending the existing 1V on 30H wave berm into the lake for a full berm width of 200 feet and adding rip rap foreshore protection to the toe of the berm.

  • WBV-71 – Western Tie-In Levees (North-South) , St. Charles Parish, Louisiana, for the New Orleans District, Corps of Engineers

This contract raised about 1.3 miles of the Davis Pond guide levee to the 100-year protection level.  The work consisted of clearing and grubbing; excavation of drainage ditches, installation of corrugated metal pipe, dewatering, and placing and compacting embankment fill.

  • Seventeen (17) contracts for levee repairs and improvements following the 1993 flood on the Upper Mississippi and Illinois River in Missouri and Illinois, for the St. Louis District, Corps of Engineers.

-        Eleven contracts consisted mostly of levee repairs and improvements in the St. Louis – East St. Louis area with a total construction cost of $17.5 million.

-        Four (4) levee repair contracts in the Cape Giardeau area.

-        Stump Lake I & II Levee Repair and Environmental Restoration Project.

-        Swan Lake Levee Repair and Restoration, and Environmental Restoration Project.
